Quinta do Olivardo, Winery and Restaurant

As I am Portuguese, I had to come and discover this little corner of Portugal. The feeling is that we are in a farm in the North of Portugal, (despite referring to the space as a landscape of Madeira Island) with vineyards, wine cellar and above all with a very Portuguese cuisine. Quinta do Olivardo is located in São Roque, about 60 km from São Paulo. I was pleasantly surprised, dishes very well prepared following the original and real recipes with no changes in flavors, the codfish pastries just like my mother used to make, the freshly made custard tarts with a flavor equal to the best you can eat in Portugal and the variety of cod dishes are mouthwatering. They also serve grilled sardines, but then I leave it to those who don't know because frozen sardines, despite being imported, have nothing to do with the ones you eat in the country. It also serves the famous Madeiran kebabs on laurel wood. Regarding the wines produced in the winery of the farm, well, for those who don't know wine I believe they can drink it but I honestly don't suit my taste, the sun is lacking in abundance and it rains a lot which makes the grapes not able to give the right aroma to the wine, but otherwise it is a very pleasant place, a very good space for families with children to spend the day, it has several equipments to enjoy the space. What I found interesting was when I asked the owner what region of Portugal he was from and in which he replied that he had never been to Portugal, apparently his wife is the descendant. I had lunch at Terraço Chopp, Restaurant and Choperia
Publicado por: Toni Martins em 2022-02-24
Today we decided to take a walk to Santos on the Paulista Coast, the first thing I did was look for a place to have lunch as it was almost 2 pm. As soon as I arrived at the seaside, I turned right towards São Vicente and there I looked if there was any restaurant or beach hut, or whatever it was that I could stop for lunch, I ended up going up to Porchat Island and arrived at a place with a stunning view and with a restaurant.. Good idea, let's see if there's food. We went in, looked at the menu (at first glance the prices were a little steep) but the options and varieties were very suggestive and we decided to order a seafood stew. When I asked the waiter if it was well served, he replied that it was enough to ask for half a dose, which was enough for both of us .. (It will be, I thought), as I was a little suspicious, I ordered the couvert... the pleasant surprise began.. Couvert, fabulous , tuna mayonnaise, cheese, olives, eggplant, fresh bread and toast, all delicious. I'm going to enjoy it and get comfortable that half a dose shouldn't be a large amount. When the famous half dose arrived... if that was half a dose, I imagine what a dose would be, very but very well served, I could repeat it twice and still bring home almost as much. The taste was divine. Summing up: location, the best in the entire region with magnificent views. Service, 5 stars Quality, 5 stars Quantity, 5 stars Price, considering the quality, quantity, service and location, the 330 reais, I cannot consider it expensive as we still have to consider the drinks and desserts (2 beers, 2 cokes, 2 puddings, 2 coffees). Definitely a place that I recommend and that I will come back whenever I can.
