I had lunch at Terraço Chopp, Restaurant and Choperia
Publicado por: Toni Martins em 2022-02-24
Today we decided to take a walk to Santos on the Paulista Coast, the first thing I did was look for a place to have lunch as it was almost 2 pm. As soon as I arrived at the seaside, I turned right towards São Vicente and there I looked if there was any restaurant or beach hut, or whatever it was that I could stop for lunch, I ended up going up to Porchat Island and arrived at a place with a stunning view and with a restaurant.. Good idea, let's see if there's food. We went in, looked at the menu (at first glance the prices were a little steep) but the options and varieties were very suggestive and we decided to order a seafood stew. When I asked the waiter if it was well served, he replied that it was enough to ask for half a dose, which was enough for both of us .. (It will be, I thought), as I was a little suspicious, I ordered the couvert... the pleasant surprise began.. Couvert, fabulous , tuna mayonnaise, cheese, olives, eggplant, fresh bread and toast, all delicious. I'm going to enjoy it and get comfortable that half a dose shouldn't be a large amount. When the famous half dose arrived... if that was half a dose, I imagine what a dose would be, very but very well served, I could repeat it twice and still bring home almost as much. The taste was divine. Summing up: location, the best in the entire region with magnificent views. Service, 5 stars Quality, 5 stars Quantity, 5 stars Price, considering the quality, quantity, service and location, the 330 reais, I cannot consider it expensive as we still have to consider the drinks and desserts (2 beers, 2 cokes, 2 puddings, 2 coffees). Definitely a place that I recommend and that I will come back whenever I can.

Kruger National Park
Publicado por: Toni Martins em 2021-11-28
Created on May 31, 1926, the Kruger National Park is the largest wildlife protected area in South Africa and also the most famous animal reserve on the African continent, covering a total area of 20,000 square km, with an extension of about 350 km from north to south and 60 km from east to west. To visit the park, I advise you to arrive very early at the entrance to avoid waiting in line for a long time, you must be prepared with food and water for the day, and you must plan to stay at least 2 days to visit the entire park. You can hire the services of the park to do the safari, but perhaps a more free option is to enter with your own vehicle and go exploring. If you use your own car, never forget to keep the windows closed and fill up the car before entering the park. Inside the park there are lodges, and other types of accommodation with different prices that you can choose from, when I visited I didn't even book accommodation and I had no difficulty finding a place to stay. How much do you spend to visit the park? If you use your own car and take your food and drink, you will spend very little, accommodation has for all prices, but it can cost between 150USd and a few thousand, it all depends on the service you want to hire.

Corvo Island, Azores
Publicado por: Toni Martins em 2022-02-24
Corvo Island is the smallest island in the Azores Archipelago and the furthest Portuguese territory from mainland Portugal. The island of Corvo, with a population of just over 400 inhabitants, has a single village which is the capital (Vila do Corvo). The island occupies a total surface of 17.13 km², with 6.5 km long and 4 km wide. The highest point on the island is Estreitinho on the southern edge of the Caldeirão, at 720 meters high. The nearest island (Ilha das Flores) is about 16 km away. The first attempt to settle the island of Corvo began at the beginning of the 16th century by a group of 30 people, led by Antão Vaz de Azevedo but who ended up abandoning it. Only in 1570 was the primitive church built and around 1580, settlers from the island of Flores settled in Corvo and from that date onwards permanently inhabited. On the island of Corvo there is a single road with about 8 km that goes from Vila do Corvo to the top of the volcano. To get to Corvo Island, you can do it by plane or by boat from Flores Island.

Castle of Paderne, Algarve
Publicado por: Toni Martins em 2022-02-23
The hill where Paderne Castle is located, is surrounded almost all around by the Quarteira stream, which in itself already gives it a landscape and a privileged location. In the place where the castle is currently located, it was initially a Lusitanian fort and was later conquered by the Romans. The castle must have been built around the 11th or 12th centuries, during the period of Muslim occupation. The castle was conquered from the Moors in 1248, having been practically abandoned in the 16th century when the population moved to the place where Paderne is today. The castle was severely damaged during the 1755 earthquake and was later completely abandoned. Inside, the ruins of a chapel that was dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Assunção remain. Today, the area surrounding the castle of Paderne is made up of several trails used by those who enjoy walking, mainly along the stream. At the base of the castle hill there is still the watermill to the north, and to the south the medieval bridge and ruins of another watermill where you can still see the remains of an old bread oven.

Publicado por: Toni Martins em 2022-02-14
For those looking for peace and an involvement with nature, Praia Dura has all that to offer. Located next to the main road BR101, Praia Dura, nestled in the Atlantic Forest, offers you temperate and clean waters and an environment of total tranquility. Praia Dura is formed by compact and darker sands, of the monazitic type, which makes it attractive for people who like to be treated with this type of sand. This beach doesn't have kiosks, so it doesn't have any beach support, so you should take everything you'll need with you.

Praia Brava de Ubatuba
Publicado por: Toni Martins em 2022-02-14
Praia Brava is one of the most beautiful and pleasant beaches in the beautiful region of Ubatuba. Little frequented, Praia Brava is nestled in the Atlantic Forest, where access is via a 5-minute trail through dense vegetation. Clean waters, without currents or dangers, Praia Brava de Brava only has its name. To get to Praia Brava you need to walk about 7 km through a narrow but paved road (with some holes) but it is worth it. On the beach there is a small bar with drinks and sandwiches, you can also rent chairs and umbrellas to avoid having to carry weight to reach the sand.

For those traveling along the BR101 between Angra dos Reis and Parati, you hardly notice the beautiful village of Mambucaba. The origin of Mambucaba dates back to the end of the 16th century, having been an important point for whaling in the beginning. From the 18th to the 19th century, Mambucaba was an important coffee exporter and slave importer to the Paraíba Valley. Today Mambucaba is one of the beaches chosen mainly by Brazilians from neighboring cities who come here to enjoy the beautiful beaches.
